The Opera TV Emulator allows web developer to test HTML5 and CE-HTML content for TVs and other appliances running the Opera Devices SDK, as well as HTML-based applications for the Opera TV Store. It comes packaged as an Oracle VirtualBox image and can be run on Windows, Mac and Linux hosts.
The majority of devices currently on the market use the Opera Devices SDK 3.2 (or older). This includes devices that run the Opera TV Store client. Manufacturers are expected to upgrade their devices to the Opera Device SDK 3.3 and 3.4 in the beginning of 2013.
We recommend testing your content and applications with both the 3.2 and 3.4 version of the Opera TV Emulator to make sure they are forward and backwards compatible with the widest range of devices.
You can subscribe to the Opera TV Emulator mailing list to be notified of new releases of the emulator package.
