Kyivstar launches tailor-made Opera Mini
The mobile web is set to get even more powerful in Ukraine. Starting this week, Kyivstar, the largest mobile phone operator in this country, is offering its subscribers a special version of the Opera Mini mobile web browser. This offer is now available to almost 26 million Kyivstar subscribers, giving access to a smooth web experience, tailored for all types of mobile phones.
Designed for speed and ease of use, Opera Mini is used by over 215 million people worldwide. Advanced compression technology, which shrinks down webpages to as little as 10% of their original size, and a set of cool features make Opera Mini the smartest mobile web option for both smartphones and basic phones.
Opera Mini’s features have made it the leading mobile browser in Ukraine. Now, with this optimized Opera Mini version, Kyivstar subscribers can also enjoy more customized web solutions, such as free access to popular websites.
“More than 8 million subscribers use mobile internet on a regular basis. Our strategic goal is to promote mobile internet to all 26 million Kyivstar subscribers. In Ukraine, 9 out of 10 mobile users still own basic phone, and the highly performing Opera Mini will be prefect web solution. Moreover, Kyivstar’s mobile internet plan ‘Internet without limits’ now allows subscribers to surf, on basic phones, with no extra expense,” says Alexey Kireev, New Business and Products Director at Kyivstar.
“Millions of users means millions of reasons to enjoy mobile surfing with Opera Mini,” says Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “Now, together with Kyivstar, we are allowing even more people in Ukraine to find their own reasons to love mobile surfing, tailored for local needs.”
